UE Local 203 Members Strike City Market in Burlington, Vermont

Monday, July 04, 2005

At noon on July 1st workers at City Market, members of UE Local 203, walked out in protest of management's Unfair Labor Practices (ULP). The Union had earlier filed ULP charges with the Labor Board for failure to bargain in good faith and unilateral changes in working conditions. Vowing to keep up the struggle inside and outside of the store, members returned to work after an hour. Shortly thereafter the union and management agreed to meet again on Wednesday, July 6.
